Dior designer Camille Miceli brings the pearl back to the fashion fore, with an asymmetric piercing-style earring that brings together creamy white pearls with contemporary brights.
Since she took over accessories design at Christian Dior in 2010, Camille Miceli has revisited several of Dior’s signature themes, putting her own stamp on the label’s costume jewelry line. For pre-Fall/Winter 2013-2014, the pearl has lost its twinset image as Camille Miceli pairs things back for the Mise en Dior line in a range of contemporary bright necklaces, bracelets and single earrings. Exit multiple strings and clusters of pearls, in favor of two asymmetric boules that sit on the front and back of the lobe in a nod to the chic piercings currently gaining fashion ground and worn as a single earring or as a pair, it looks set to become a contemporary Paris style classic.
Mix and match colors – the cobalt blue is fantastic with the deep green, and the powder pink works beautifully with the deep ruby red – or stay true to the minimalist creamy originals. Available in-store now, more colors will be added to the range in September along with an innocent white paired its evil twin, in bitter black.
